CANVA PRESENTATION

BARCELONA CLUB FLYERS

Created as part of Dr. Kris Alexander's RTA 928 Video Game Design course at Toronto Metropolitan University. 

This is a concept tool for Six Stars, an arcade racing and cooking game that I am developing. The assignment brief required the presentation of game design information in a manner that aligns with the game's aesthetic and thematic intent. I drew inspiration from "Barcelona Club Flyers," a compilation photo album created by Tite Barbuzza that focuses on rave club flyers from the 1990s and early 2000s. These visuals resonated with my concept's Y2K and internet café aesthetic, making them an ideal reference for this project. 

I opted for a pastel bluish-purple palette, which I found to best complement the design assets I already made without overpowering their inherent colour temperatures. This choice was also made to enhance the visual cohesion of the design and helps contribute to the playful, futuristic atmosphere central to Six Stars. To integrate the assets cohesively into my design, I processed them through multiple dithering effects in Photoshop, with a final output similar to the visual artefacts found in 90s consoles like the PS1 and Dreamcast. 

The 3D car model featured in my design was outsourced to Nicholas Yeh, a modeler and texturer with experience in low-poly artwork helped push my game from just a concept to something tangible and dynamic. Characters included are repurposed from SusPension!, a conceptual comic I developed for GCM 130. The character designs were a collaborative effort with artist Teodor Angelov, and the final illustrations were mocked up in Blender and then refined and vectorised in Adobe Illustrator.

BRANDING GUIDELINES
For Jay Wong’s GCM 130 Intro to Graphic Design course at Toronto Metropolitan University.
Created for an Introduction to Graphic Design elective, the following project was a take on a typewriter revival. Don’t ask me how it works, I’m just the concept designer okay? 

The main bulk of the project included a print magazine ad, two logo variations, a branding guide and social media posts. I’m heavily inspired by nostalgia and anemoia, so I wanted to emulate the work of The Designers Republic, David Carson, and other early 2000s designers and firms.

PROPOSAL DOCUMENT

The fate of the elderly is in the hands of the retired!
This is SusPension!, a high-stakes, low-speed, baby aspirin-fueled dive into the underground world of senior-home street racing. 
 
For this project, I designed the front and back cover for SusPension!, a geriatric street racing manga that I would like to publish.

Collaborating with Teodor Angelov, we created character sketches inspired by Tom Selleck and Toshiro Mifune.
